Electronics Recycling

Computer and home theater components are made of different materials and require diverse disposal efforts. Some trash hauling companies will not take those components. These components can be recycled through a variety of drop-off locations and take-back programs.  A good place to start is by checking with your computer’s manufacturer, or the retailer you purchased it from to see what kind of take-back or trade-in options might be available.

Tallmadge Events

The city, in its efforts to promote an environmentally friendly community, hosts Electronics Recycling drives. These events, which are free (small charge for CRTs) to the Tallmadge community, enables residents to drop off their electronic waste at a central Tallmadge location to be recycled and disposed of by industry professionals.

Year-Round Resources

While all of the components of a computer are made of different materials and require diverse disposal efforts, they can be recycled through a variety of drop-off locations and take-back programs. A good place to start is by checking with your computer’s manufacturer, or the retailer you purchased it from to see what kind of take-back or trade-in options might be available.

The city has partnered with Summit e-Waste Recycling to provide a drop off bin. This bin, which is free to the Tallmadge community, is located at the Community Center (80 Community Road) and enables residents to drop off their electronic waste at any time. The bin is able to take most items but if you have something larger like TVs please contact Summit e-Waste Recycling directly.
